We opened in 1971 as Carmela’s Pizzeria and are very thankful to the many customers who supported us then and are still our faithful customers today. When we decided to expand from a pizzeria to a family restaurant and catering we had two major thoughts in our mind: first was to have the most skilled staff of chefs and waiters to prepare the highest quality of food and provide outstanding service: second, to design and decorate our dining area with breath taking images of our beloved Sicilian landscape. The idea was to give our clients a unique type of atmosphere where as soon as they entered our dining area it would give them a sense of being in Italy for the entire duration of their stay at our restaurant. We hired highly skilled decorators and artists that totally achieved our goals. Today we are proud of our restaurant because over the years we have earned the reputation of being among the best in Italian cuisine and because of its artistic décor many of customers refer to our place as “Il gioiello della cucina Italiana” , “ The jewel of Italian cuisine”. For special occasions, whether a family party such as christening, birthday party, wedding anniversary; or a corporate function, we will cater your affair in our elegant and exquisitely decorated dining area, which can comfortably accommodate up to 100 guests. We use the best quality of ingredients, which are hand picked by our master chef daily and carefully prepared with a touch of artistic flair in order to serve food that pleases our customers’ eyes and palate. We are proud of our chefs as they are committed to preparing home-style meals that will have you and your guests remember your affair as one of their greatest culinary experience. Upon being seated a basket of warm bread including just-baked focaccia is presented while you study the extensive menu of chicken, fish, veal and pasta selections. There are also specials that change daily. A popular appetizer, our antipasto table, features a great selection of traditional Sicilian specialties. Generous portions of delicious entrees include Lobster Mediterranean , and Havana Cigar, which is thin veal, prosciutto and mozzarella rolled around asparagus spears in a light brown mushroom sauce. Home made deserts include creamy tiramisu and classic Italian zabaglione with fresh berries – both are definitively luscious treats. Wine is an important part of dining and choosing the wine that goes with the meal is an art in itself. We have spent a great deal of time in wine selection and have a list of classic fine wines that fits very well with our Southern Italian cuisine. Our wine cellar is stocked with nearly thirty varieties of wines, both from Italy and California. Although classic fine wines will always be the favorites, with the large variety of wines available from around the world, we will continue to search for other fine wines that can better satisfy the palate of our clientele. We describe our atmosphere as casually elegant and will customize your party to meet your needs. We view every "occasion" we serve as unique and tailor the event to make it "special".
